History of Queens China
George Warrilow was previously in business with James Cope as Warrilow and Cope, George Warrilow and his sons operated the Pottery when it moved to Park Place in Longton for the two years 1887 & 1888 - in 1889 moved to the Queen's Pottery works in nearby Sutherland Road, Longton.
The Warrilow business ceased operation in 1940 then Rosina China Co. Ltd. operated the Queen's Pottery from 1941 to 1988 some time after Hartley Greens & Co moved to the Queen's Pottery works in Longton. The Queens China brand name was used by Rosina China who produced bone china at the Queen's Pottery in Longton.
The Queens China name became part of the Churchill China Group. Churchill continues to use the Queens brand today for their earthenware tableware range which could be back-stamped, Churchill or Queens.
