Paddington Bear

Paddington Bear is a Make Belief and favourite character in children's literature first appearing on 13 October 1958 in the children's book ‘A Bear Called Paddington’ and has been featured in more than twenty books written by British author Michael Bond, and illustrated by Peggy Fortnum and other artists.

A remarkable young bear travels to London from the darkest jungles of Peru more remarkably he can walk and talk. The Bear is adopted by the Brown family and given the name Paddington, he goes through many adventures in his travels.

Paddington has appeared in two films in 2014 and 2017 and an animated series that started in 2019 and is still going.

Initially, Paddington wore a black hat and blue coat, occasionally, red Wellington boots but in the film and the current picture books, Paddington is seen to be wearing a red hat and blue coat with real toggles. When he wears them the boots are usually red.
