• The Porsche 911 SC RS, a variant of the iconic Porsche 911 sports car introduced in 1964 by Dr. Ferdinand Porsche, has a history of over a century. Known for its rear-mounted flat-six engine and four seats, it combines performance with practicality. Continuously evolving, the Porsche 911 has remained a symbol of automotive excellence.
• In motorsports, particularly in road racing and rallying, the Porsche 911 SC RS has made significant contributions. Adapting to changing regulations, it produced a Group B-compliant rally car in 1984, with around 20-21 homologation models named 911 SC RS based on the 911 SC.
• This model, developed with Prodrive under David Richards, featured a 2996cc air-cooled flat-six engine with 300 horsepower, a chassis based on the 911 Turbo (Type 930), and extensive use of lightweight materials like aluminium and Kevlar, bringing its weight down to 960 kg.
• The 911 SC RS, predominantly active in the European and Middle East Rally Championships, debuted at the Qatar Rally in January 1984, clinching its first win with Saeed Al Hajri.
• It further achieved victories in the Oman and Dubai Rallies, with Al Hajri winning the Middle East Rally Championship. Henri Toivonen also competed in the European Rally Championship with this car. Its participation in the WRC continued until 1985, marking its prominence in motorsports.
