The saddleback pig is a breed of pig recognized for it's abnormal colouration. Most domestic pigs are pink, with no particularly variation in colour, whereas the saddleback is predominantly black with a whiteish Pink band running round the centre of it's body.
The origin of these pigs is surrounded with rumours and doubt, but the most reasonable explanation is wild forest foraging pigs crossed with domesticated pigs during the middle ages, explaining the black colouration they possess.
This John Beswick Figure of a hare is shown leaping from a patch of grass that acts as the base for the figurine.
