Established in 1894, John Beswick is a famous English name in ceramic pottery originating at the Gold Street Works in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. Producing lifelike collectables including farm animals and wildlife figures.
In 1948 the company under license manufactured Beatrix Potter earthenware characters. Then in 1952 they started to produce a range of Collectable Disney characters, which are still sought after by collectors to this very day.
In 1969 the business was sold to Royal Doulton where production continued at the Gold Street works until 2002, which was then sadly demolished in 2003.
From 2004 to the present day the Beswick name and design rights where purchased by Dartington Crystal who using traditional methods manufacture the hand-painted collection, maintaining the high quality and heritage of the brand.
